OUR REVIEW

Alexander's Hotel stands on the edge of the caldera near the beginning of the village of Oia.
The hotel offers at ground, entrance level, a wonderfully spacious villa-like suite with splendid views and balcony - ideal for family or other get-togethers (and requiring no steps or climb to get to it - a benefit for the tired or even perhaps, elderly and children). There are also - the rest of the hotel - many suites and rooms ranging from the Santorini cave style to more traditional cycladic whitewashed-wall rooms.
The position is very convenient and offers both the "villa" and a few rooms at a level which provides all of the view you have dreamed of but with far fewer, if any, steps to climb.

Delightful antique flavours decorate rooms and suites, and the owner emphasizes friendliness, service and comfort with flair.

All room types have flat screen TVs, DVD and a stereo system, some with kitchen, some have beds in romantic whitewashed caves with bathrooms equally unique.

A thoroughly rewarding hotel for your Santorini stay, in its position and for its views and for strolling through Oia to the castle or shopping and dining.

THE VILLAS-SUITES & CAVE-HOUSES

Imperial villa: (up to 6 people)
On the high point on the cliff, with no steps, which makes it accessible for handicapped or frail people (a rarity on the Santorini caldera).
Two separate bedrooms (queen-size bed/twin beds). Spacious living room/dining room, fully equipped kitchen (4-ring cooker with oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, crystal champagne/wine glasses, silverware & porcelain dishes). 40" LCD cable TV, home cinema, DVD player and stereo system, telephone, wireless internet access. Antique furniture, hand made rugs, a collection of oysters & sea shells displayed on the volcanic black sand of the glass coffee table. 1 large bathroom with bathtub.

Private balcony with an outdoor 4-person jacuzzi. Panoramic view of the Caldera, the volcano, the sea, Fira and Imerovigli - magic sunset vistas. Breakfast is served on your balcony.

Diamond villa (suite) : (up to 6 people)

Two double bedrooms (king & queen size beds). There are "house-like" windows between the bedrooms and the living room that are normally left open. Living room with 33" TV, home cinema. Separate kitchen. Bathroom with white marble floor with black granite trims around the jacuzzi bathtub and wash basin.
Ruby villa (suite) : (up to 4 people)
Living room with high domed ceilings and archways. The master bedroom (king-size bed) is adjoining, while a sofa-bed for a third guest has been placed in the living room. There is a 'cave-style' bathroom, with a jacuzzi bathtub. 20" flat screen TV.

Emerald villa (suite) : (up to 3 people)
Combined living room/bedroom, separate kitchen/dining area. Bathroom, with white marble floor & green granite around the jacuzzi bathtub and wash basin. Features an original wine vat, used for crushing the grapes.

Tanzanite villa (suite): (up to 3 people)
View to the Caldera directly from the large king-size bed. Small living room with a sofa-bed for a third guest and a separate kitchenette area. 20" flat screen TV. 'Cave style' marble bathroom.

Sapphire villa (suite) : (up to 3 people)
Bedroom with queen-size bed, combined kitchen/living room, separated from the bedroom with "house-like" windows. Bathroom, tub decorated with blue granite. 20" screen TV.

Aquamarine villa (suite) : (up to 2 people)
King-size bed in the bedroom, small living room with kitchenette and bathroom with shower. 20" flat screen TV.

Cave-houses & Cave-suites:
Restored ancient residences, built into the caldera rock, with characteristic "cave-like" features and simpler, more traditional style decor. Shared terrace with panoramic sea & caldera views. Small common pool.

Parking: there is a parking lot about 50 m from the hotel's entrance (you can stop and unload your luggage right in front of the entrance).

Perissa (black) beach - 24.7 km Kamari beach - 20 km.
Renting a car is recommended if you plan to explore the island.

Rates are per room/suite (2 people), per night. They include breakfast, air conditioning (cooling/heating) and all taxes. Extra adult in room: 70 euros/night (Imperial villa: 100 euros/night).
Children (8-12 years): 35 euros/night (Imperial villa: 50 euros/night).

NOTE: For safety, because of the hotel's location on the caldera, children under 8 years old are not accommodated (very sorry).
