OUR REVIEW

In the midst of the white stepping-stone houses and glory of Oia is one of the most individual - particularly the individually designed and styled rooms and suites - hotels in Santorini.

Art Maisons is a collection, a gathering of festive romantic design frolic - luxury meets the art of the special. Art Maisons is in fact two creative clusters - at and around Oia castle are magical suites on and in the cliff-side and then, in the centre of Oia on a sort of rocky level promontory, a house and several suites take up this majestic perch with views of the village and the monumentally magical view of the Santorini volcano.

The suites at the Oia castle cluster are the tour de force of Art Maisons design and decor prowess. These amaze you with cave swimming pools, magic balconies with white adobe-curved edges and lounge chairs which support you in comfort as you dream (but dreams are not necessary - you are already where you dreamed of!), whimsically luxurious bathrooms and chic and inspired interiors and furniture, neat and swish kitchens and always somewhere to slink down into a chair...and the view! Amongst the most romantic suites you could stay at in Santorini, you will vow to return!.

Aspaki is the part of Art Maisons that springs out like a step in the clouds, in front of the centre of little Oia village, offering a fantasy in reality. With a larger "house" which looks like a romantic version of a lighthouse-keeper's de luxe cottage, and below this you take steps to the suites which are equally inspired - luxury meets romance, meets romantic fantasy. All of these enjoy the main view to the volcano and a dazzlingly pretty look back at the speckled, stepped houses of the village. Houses lit in the sun like a sparkling tiara and at night, by the scattered lights reflected by the white and pastel coloured walls.

Cycladic design with oak wooden floor, white walls and iron & brass queen-size bed. Sitting area, bathroom with shower. Special feature: unique handmade painting of the famous Greek artist Galanopoulos, made out of of native Santorini materials.

Three verandas (shared with Marine suite) with caldera, sea and sunset view. Outdoor cave pool for 6 (shared with Marine) directly facing the sunset.

The "Aqua" and "Marine" suites can be rented in combination for absolute privacy.

"Cave" suite, volcano-inspired, with black and red stones, in combination with white sculpted walls and olive tree wood. Cave bedroom with queen-size bed. Dining & sitting area with sofa bed. In the heart of the traditional village of Oia, with calm and surrounding blue vistas. All four Aspaki suites offer unparallel panoramic views to Oia, the azure sea and the famous sunset. The suites offer privacy, as well as easy access (only a few steps).

On the upper level of Aspaki, with total privacy and breathtaking views, large terrace with outdoor jacuzzi, the "Endless Blue" suite is the setting for a dream honeymoon stay. Floating between the sea & sky, with the blue domes of Oia anchoring you to earth. A romantic and peaceful atmosphere. Exceptional.

On the middle level of Aspaki (below Endless Blue), "Atmospherico" is eccentric in choice of furniture and architectural style.

The master bedroom (with queen-size bed) has its own private bathroom with shower and balcony.
Two more gallery/loft bedrooms (one with two single beds and one with a three quarter - almost double - bed) share the main bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub and view of the volcano, surrounded by the Aegean.
Fully equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area with fireplace. Two large verandas provide different aspects to enjoy beautiful views of Oia, the Aegean and the Caldera. Ideal for groups of up to 5 people.

On the last (lowest) level of Aspaki, "Romeo & Juliet" has warm colours and a special romantic flair, with a framed view of Oia through the window.

"Cave" bedroom with built-in queen-size bed, cave bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub, kitchen with sitting & dining area, private veranda with magnificent sea, caldera and Oia view.

In addition, use of common spacious yard with shower, sunbathing area and panoramic view.

On the last (lowest) level of Aspaki, "Deep Blue" has blue tones and a wonderful cave bathroom (with jacuzzi bathtub & shower). Open-plan studio with kitchen, sitting & dining area, fireplace, elevated bedroom with built-in queen-size bed, private veranda with fantastic sea, caldera & Oia view.

In addition, use of common spacious yard with shower, sunbathing area and panoramic view.

"Romeo & Juliet" and "Deep Blue" suites, with connecting doors, provide the option of being combined into a two-suite apartment.
