OUR REVIEW
A small classic-modern hotel with some character, near
the Acropolis, Plaka and Athens' famous monuments, with comfortable,
large rooms and good service. Ava Hotel happily provides the
ingredients for the recipe of a most enjoyable and
convenient stay in the heart of Athens.
You don't have to leave your room to be reinded you are "there" - in
the heart of the famous city that you always wanted to visit, to
admire from close all those magnificent monuments (not to mention the
quaint streets and tavernas). From all the front balconies you can see
the rock of the Acropolis on one side and Hadrian's Arch and the
temple of Zeus on the other. The stage is set for you to conquer

Ava Hotel comprises 46 "apartments" (spacious rooms,
with sitting areas and kitchenettes). Very suitable layout for
families, as well as for longer stays.
The hotel's front rooms (executive apartments or suites) are
preferable, for the balconies with view. The standard apartments are
still a good choice (despite the lack of such views), simply for the
combination of the hotel's location & comfort.
A pleasant lobby and breakfast room/cafe-bar on the ground floor,
provide the staging area to collect & spread out your maps,
guide books and notes, as you plan each day's strategy for taking in
the city!

THE APARTMENTS & SUITES
Standard apartments: approx. 32 m2, accommodate up to 3 people. Bedroom (twin beds or King-size bed)
& sitting area combined ("open" layout), kitchenette,
small balcony facing the back.
Executive apartments: approx. 50 m2,
accommodate up to 5 people. Bedroom (twin beds or King-size bed), separate living room, kitchenette, balcony with view to the Acropolis, Hadrian Arch and Zeus
Temple.
Suites: approx. 55 m2,
accommodate up to 4 people. Bedroom (Queen-size bed), separate living room, kitchenette, extra-large
balcony (20 m2) on the top floor, with a view from the
balcony to the
Acropolis, Hadrian Arch and Zeus Temple.
IN ALL ROOMS
Air conditioning, central heating, double glazing,
bathroom with shower cabin, hair dryer, kitchenette, small fridge,
coffee/tea making facilities, mini-bar, direct dial phone, ADSL
internet access, cable TV, safe box, balcony. Big beds with orthopedic
mattresses. Bathrobes & slippers.
All rooms (except 1) and all public areas are Non-Smoking.
DISTANCES
Plaka centre - 50 m, Acropolis - 400 m, Monastiraki flea market - 600
m, Syntagma square (& shopping centre) - 600 m.
Athens airport - 35 km (55 minutes by metro), Pireas port - 15 km (15-20 minutes
by metro).
Parking in the area is difficult (unless you pay for private parking
in one of the garages around). You are advised not to keep a
car for your Athens stay, instead better to make the most of the
central location that allows you to go everywhere worthwhile on foot.
If you overdo it and have "too far to walk back" taxis are cheap.

The Ava hotel was outstanding. I would highly recommend that
place to anyone. The location was ideal, the suite we had was perfect
(large, clean, well equipped including the wired internet connection), the
service was extremely helpful. We can't say enough good things about the
place and should we spend time in Athens again, that's the first place (and
perhaps only place) we would consider. It's the sort of place I would plan
a trip around.
