Views from this photogenic caldera gem are stunning, it is a mecca for sunsets and hotels mostly have views of the volcano, Thirasia island & the sea - or in some cases towards the setting sun for those who stay near the castle. The marble paved single main "street" is a visitor's delight. Visit the naval museum near the post office. Nearby: Close to the water's edge fish dining and fishing harbour of Ammoudi, or enjoy - on the way to it - Kantharos beach. Boat trips to Thirasia, Nea & Palea Kameni islands and the volcano, from Ammoudi.
