OUR REVIEW

One of the larger quality hotels we offer in Athens, retains the small hotel warm welcome we think you will enjoy and is conveniently positioned at the beginning of Plaka in the heart of the city and its attractions.

When you visit the famous and historic city of Athens, to be able to walk out of the grand lobby of your hotel and have every step count, you are already in the middle of camera-snapping views, buildings, ruins and the life and pulse of the place, it means you have chosen your hotel well (see see location on map).
Electra Palace Hotel and the Plaka district are beneath the imposing, tear-inducing grandeur of the Acropolis. Plaka is where Athenians who can, buy a house or apartment - this is a "village-in-the-city" area that feels like and sometimes is, the pulse of Athens.

A refreshingly spacious entrance and lobby, tiled in a marble mosaic pattern, plenty of areas housing seats to lounge upon before or after your Athens explorations, a cafe and bar area and a large breakfast room - it is quite grand. Light snacks are served in the bar area. Computers with internet connection are available in the lobby.

From the Presidential suite with its own sizeable pool to one of the great Superior rooms - some reward your travel with a dazzling view of the Acropolis. Go to the restaurant on the roof or to the pool from which the horizon fades and merges while you swim and enjoy the landmark, world famous view of Athens. A view that brings a smile of joy every time.

A workout room, small indoor pool and spa area provide for physical relaxation and toning wants. Massage is available. Elevators take you straight to the spa level avoiding need to circumnavigate the lobby dressed in your spa or workout clothes.

All bedrooms and suites have internet connection, main satellite TV channels, smoke detectors, mini-bar and fridge, smart bathrooms, sofa or armchairs. Suites also have Jacuzzi bath and separate shower cabin and natural Greek Korres toiletries. Non-smoking rooms are available.

We recommend a Superior room or better to have the enjoyment of that most memorable view of the Acropolis.

Should you have a car with you whilst staying in Athens the hotel has an underground car park.

102 Standard rooms, 33 Superior Acropolis view rooms, 9 Junior Suites, 10 Suites, 1 Presidential suite. Non-smoking and connecting rooms available.

In all rooms: air conditioning & central heating, mini-bar, electronic laptop-size safe box, direct dial phone, satellite & pay TV, WiFi internet connection, sound-proof windows, work desk, bathrobe & slippers, marble bathroom with bathtub or shower, hair dryer.
Standard Rooms: have all the above amenities.
Superior Acropolis view Rooms: all room amenities plus view of the Acropolis through windows - some rooms with balconies.

Junior Suites: all room amenities plus sitting area, wooden floor with handmade rugs, trouser press. 6 suites have balcony and Acropolis view. 3 suites have Garden view.

Suites: all room amenities plus separate sitting room, jacuzzi bathtub (some have also separate shower cubicles), special bathroom toiletries, wooden floor with handmade rugs, trouser press. All 10 have Acropolis view - 7 have a balcony.

Presidential suite with private pool: all room amenities plus a large balcony with outdoor private swimming pool, panoramic Acropolis view, separate sitting room, steam room, separate bathroom with shower, special bathroom toiletries, wooden floor with handmade rugs, trouser press.

SERVICES AVAILABLE (some at extra charge)

General: 24-hour front desk, 24-hour concierge service, room service, luggage storage. On request: laundry/valet service, dry cleaning, baby-sitting.

Business: fax, photocopying, secretarial service. Internet kiosk with PC and printer, meeting facilities available.

Fitness & recreation: Outdoor (roof-top) swimming pool for summer months. Mini-spa with indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, gym room (elevators take you straight down to the spa without touching the lobby). Use of all of these is free of charge. Massage can be arranged (extra charge).
Dining:
"Electra" Roof Garden restaurant, with magnificent Acropolis & Plaka views. For dinner (19:00-00:00).
"Motivo" restaurant at lobby level, where an American buffet breakfast is served and a Mediterranean & Greek a la carte menu is offered for lunch or dinner throughout the day (07:00-22:00).
"Duck-Tail" bar at lobby level, for coffee, drinks or light snacks - inside or outside in the garden patio (10:00-00:00).

Plaka (historic centre of Athens) - 0 m, Acropolis - 300 m (entrance 400m), Monastiraki flea market - 400 m, Syntagma square (& shopping centre) - 500 m.
Athens airport - 35 km (55 minutes by metro), Pireas port - 15 km (15-20 minutes by metro).

Standard Double/Twin Room: 174-220 euros
Triple Room: 186-250 euros
Superior Room, Acropolis view: 205-280 euros
Junior Suite: 275-400 euros
Suite: 370-500 euros

Summer period - 1 April to 31 October 2009:

Rates are per room, per night and include buffet breakfast, air conditioning, heating and all taxes.

Parking (at hotel's private underground garage): 12.00 euros/day.
