Fresh Hotel - Athens
OUR REVIEW Fresh colours and fresh design personify this hotel. It is in the meat packing (trendy but odd) district of Athens, which means a fifteen minute walk from Syntagma Square and Plaka. If you like to be in an area where the "beat of the city" seems to register - this is just fine. Like all "improving" city areas though, there are times when you may want to take a taxi to the hotel door rather than walk back at night if you have any concerns about passing a few "strange" characters.
Fresh hotel is convenient for the Psirri district, which has some of
the largest varieties of styles of cafe, food, music and entertainment
- a sort of art-based SoHo of Athens. The town hall of Athens
and a large department store are just around the corner. (See
hotel location on map) Rooms are cool and generally have good light with a single colour being the main theme in bedspreads or a streak of colour as a feature in the room. Bathrooms are ultra modern, with "rain" showers and Corian sinks. If you can spend a little more, we recommend you choose an Executive room or Suite (standard rooms are a tad small).
Roof terrace is a must-visit, with an 8 out of 10 score for its view
of the
Acropolis (near-perfect view but includes a few amazing antennas!!).
Standard rooms: 22 m2, twin beds or
queen-size bed. City views. For up to 2 adults & 1 child (child sleeps
in fold-out armchair). IN ALL ROOMS Air conditioning, central heating, bathroom with "rain" shower, flat screen TV, cable/satellite TV, high-speed & wireless internet access, mini-bar, safe box, natural Greek Korres toiletries, bathrobes.
SERVICES AVAILABLE (some at extra charge) Outdoor (rooftop) swimming pool (available in summer). "Air-Lounge" rooftop bar for drinks & "finger-food".
Views to the city and Acropolis. Open in summer months.
DISTANCES Parking in the area is difficult - the hotel's underground parking comes in handy if you have a car. You are, however, advised not to keep a car for your Athens stay, instead better to make the most of the central location, walking or using the easily accessible public transportation. If you overdo it and have "too far to walk back" taxis are cheap.
MINIMUM STAY: 2-4 nights, depending on season. |
