OUR REVIEW
If you would love to enjoy one of the top five luxury, classic Santorini-style hotels, where each step down to the pool or to your room is taken while breathing in the delights of Santorini's idyllic spot, then occasionally you must take your eyes off the dazzling view long enough to go the right way!
The pool merges into the view, which is all part of the visual wonder and captivating feeling, as you glance across the shimmering waters of the Aegean sea to the volcano. The dazzling white of Kirini merges with the dazzling blue of the pool and the azure sea - the experience is one of luxurious absorption, you have done well to choose Kirini for your days of pleasure and leisure.
Steps lead down from just beyond the edge of Oia village which you can see arcing off to the right, into the hotel, to rooms that are all a treat, whether you take a Junior suite or one of the grandest with a private pool, you will enjoy spacious bathrooms, bright rooms all with that magic view.
Antique quality furniture, plush beds, well designed and equipped bathrooms and all the trimmings and extras you would hope to have a in a world class destination hotel. From here, later you watch the sun set into an ink-blue, sea. Or perhaps wander over to get the feel of the group, as many beings crowd the ancient castle ruins to observe the sun's final slow, slow fling downwards to make space for a twinkling sky and man made lights of candles and recessed electric glows from the village.
Kirini rose from its previous incarnation which was the Atlantis hotel to be completely recreated and become one of a new generation of swish Santorini legend hotels. Just a couple of years old it is all stunning whites and brightness of light.
With two restaurants, gourmet foods, bars to sip and drink in the view, 24 hour service and the ever available main pool. If you prefer a romantic, more private dining joy - just tell the hotel and they will arrange a dinner in one of those "areas" - for there are several - where it will be you and chosen ones and the view and a toast of fine wine with shimmering sparkling waves below.
You could luxuriate staying within the celebrity hotel - but once in a while a walk through Oia village and the chance to choose cafes and restaurants from a variety of styles, shops for surprisingly good and innovative gifts - you are in the right place.
