There are only two units - that's all - that make up Monopati. You are inside the walls of the Monemvasia castle and just uphill, steps up
from the ancient village centre church, you stay here with a complete experience of Monemvasia.
The owners - a fine and interesting, most welcoming couple, will be as keen to know your stories as you may be to ask them about Monemvasia...they love the place as it is their chosen, adopted home, but they are truly international in outlook so those seeking conversation over a glass of local wine, a notch above the prattle of the crowd...will enjoy it!
The apartment or the little house - choose which stone constructed area and space suits you best.
Traditional aspects of Monemvasia are revealed and a homely welcome is assured here. Yet each part is independent. At cooler times of year the under-floor heating provides the best source of warmth available and air conditioning is there for warmer months.
Monopati is 150 m from the entrance to the Castle (the "rock") - the walk is on cobblestone (as everywhere within Monemvasia) and some ancient final steps as you approach the place. Pedestrian access only.
The Little house:
90 m2, for 2-5 people. Living area with fireplace, terrace with sea view, kitchenette, two bedrooms (one double and one triple with 1 double and 1 single bed), bathroom with bathtub.
The Apartment:
50 m2, for 2-3 people. Kitchenette and dining corner, two bedrooms (1 double, 1 single bed), bathroom with shower. This does not have sea view. Guests can put the garden furniture out in the alley and enjoy the views from there.
FEATURES IN ALL ACCOMMODATION
Air conditioning, central (under floor) heating, WiFi internet access. Fridge, hairdryer, radio-CD player. Coffee & tea making facilities.
Each apartment has an independent entrance.

Arrived at the main gate at Monemvassia and went inside. What a city!
Found Monopati Rooms very easy. Lovely Isabelle greeted us. The rooms
were big and very different from all we have seen before. Very clean
and homely. Nice view from the terrace.
We walked around and just enjoyed all.
Went to Malvasia Bar for a gin
and tonic before sunset, then to eat at one of the 3 tavernas. We went
to the upper city ruins and admired peoples efforts during all times.
We took the shuttle bus to Gefira, 1 Euro per person.
We walked around
whole Monemvasia. Very rocky around the corner, but slowly and
concentrated we managed without any accidents.
Isabelle is an artist in her profession. A touch of her is all over the
place, for instance the nice bronze frog in the courtyard. We had
breakfast on her terrace. Her homemade fig jam was just like a dream.
She also showed us an old film of Monemvasia.
Her staff was very nice an smiling and polite. And did a fine job in
our rooms by tidying and cleaning.
The morning when we were to leave, Mrs. Maria Giovanni, from TO Kanoni,
drove us from the main entrance to the bus stop in Gefyra. Another
fabulous greek lady!

Our stay in Monemvassia was far better than expected. What a place!
I have now visited Greece 48 times. It is not my last time.
Thank you for advertising Monopati Rooms and helpful comments regarding
our travel from Neapolis to Monemvassia.
Best regards,

We stayed at Monopati Apartments on Monemvasia as part of a week long holiday in the Pelopponese. This studio was the jewel in the crown of an amazing wander through this part of Greece. It was a delight to park the car and enter into this medieval fortress. Like stepping back in time.
We did put quite a bit of research into this holiday and the time it took trawling the internet really paid off as the break was beyond our expectations. Greece in April, with wild flowers, moderate temperatures and wonders of the ancient civilisations suited us perfectly.
So all I can say is thanks to all at Crete Travel [/SuperbGreece], the Monopati apartments are stunning and the couple running the place are lovely, friendly and very helpful.
If I had one complaint it is that we didn't spend longer there but there's always next time.
Kind regards

We enjoyed Monemvasia very much. We thought the Monopati appartment was great, and Isabelle and Chris were charming and helpful. The Little House was interesting too..we were very hot in the bedroom, despite the fan, as there was no air con in that room. I think it was exceptionally hot at that time. All in all we had a great time, best wishes,
Celia Taylor
I cannot thank you enough for what you have done and I am very grateful.
We have just returned from another wonderful holiday in the Peloponnese and
we were so pleased that last year's fires do not seem to have left too much
damage in the south. We will definitely be returning as usual next year and
the Monopati will be top of our list!

I loved Monopati and the rental car worked out great.
(The hotel in Thessaloniki was fine, a good location and a good value but lacked personality.)
Of course everything is down hill after Isabella!
