OUR REVIEW

Nafpaktos is steeped in history and you really should make it a stopping point on your journey. Just 25 minutes from Patras and 10 minutes from the architectural marvel of the Rio-Antirio bridge and from Nafpaktos' own unique "crab's claw" (almost encircled) tiny harbour, with an impressive castle ruins and phenomenal views. It is also on the seafront, with a good beach, plenty of choice in restaurants and cute or intriguing cafes. There is also an excellent shop in which to buy guides to the town and area, maps and all manner of pictorial images of many areas of Greece, just by the harbour.

Nafs hotel is a newcomer. Waiting for you on the beach just 150 metres along the seafront from the remarkable and romantic Nafpaktos harbour. It is a chic, smart and comfortable, yet warm and friendly new hotel in a perfect position. Walk along the beach or step across the road (closed to cars in summer months) to the sea ...stroll down to the harbour and eat at a renowned restaurant or drop into a cafe.

Exciting modern light fittings and chandeliers decorate the lobby and lobby bar, a mezzanine restaurant offers great buffet breakfasts and other meals. At ground level an indoor and outdoor cafe. Both have sea views.

Many rooms also have a sea view and on the clearest days you can see the spine-tingling image of the Rio Antirio bridge, a marvel of engineering because of the number of "firsts" in its design and construction techniques - it is also a work of beauty, spanning the 5 kilometres between the main part of central Greece and the Peloponnese. Other rooms have a view up to the castle and hillside.
