Why we like it: swish suites and rooms in classic stone building, interior of the village
OUR REVIEW
Proselinos with 5 suites is warm and intimate. Interesting stone building, views of Dimitsana from some rooms, others to the central terrace. Though you might be staying as two or four people, this is also an ideal opportunity for a larger family to stay for a week in the mountains and be united, taking the whole inn for your get-together. Exposed stone, wood beams, wooden framed windows and traditional style yet with modern bathrooms - a smart and comfortable result. The building though rebuilt stone by stone, dates from the 18th century. It is winter-cozy but in the hardly-hot summers maintains the comfort that is a hallmark of the place.
Smart comfortable rooms and suites are on an upper level. A living and dining area merges with the entrance. Rooms have antique furniture and super-comfortable beds ("Coco-Mat" - the supreme brand that is sweeping luxury inns and hotels!).
Play cards, backgammon, have a coffee and cake or a snack or lounge in the living area - nod or chat to other guests, exchange stories with the owner family, get tips of where to eat that evening or which paths to walk, villages to drive out to.
Wandering around the village from here, up to the highest point where a church sits as the bullseye of this part of the village, is a pleasant pastime. Breakfast at Proselinos is served in the living and entrance area on the big dining table, or you can take a tray to your room and enjoy a lazy start to the day there.
2 double rooms, 1 triple and 2 suites. The suites have an iron wood-stove or fireplace and jacuzzi bathtub in the bathroom.
Handmade rugs, ultra-comfortable, natural "Coco-mat" mattresses and bed covers, flat screen TVs, DVD players, free wireless internet access, use of a laptop computer.
Rooms do not have air conditioning as the high altitude and climate make it unnecessary.
FACILITIES
Reception & lounge with big fireplace and a bar. Large flat screen TV with home cinema, board games. Authentic antiques, most of which existed in the original old building.
