OUR REVIEW

Beautifully created out of hewn stone in the village of Areopoli, in the heartland of Mani, the magical many turreted and mystical landscaped area of the Peloponnese.

Trapela has a cozy breakfast room and cafe. Like staying in a small castle - but in the guise and softer, warmer feel of a modern inn. Homely and with some style, in the centre of the village.
Pleasing modern bathrooms, stylish wood-beamed ceilings - the wood and stone of a solid rural building, but this is the one the squire stays in!
Warm, traditional, full of style and atmosphere, yet with all modern facilities – comfortable and charming.
Quite new, the gorgeous well-crafted stone building – but more than that, Trapela Hotel is a warm and friendly small hotel in the middle of Areopoli. A find – fashioned in historic style in a historic location – a modern, locally-tuned welcoming result.

There are 12 rooms with wood beams and stone walls, some with good views of this tiny town and its surrounding areas…towards the mountains or in the direction of the sea.
Rooms do not have sweeping large windows, they have cozy views and simple but truly good furniture. Bathrooms are smart and modern.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the cafe of the inn or you could start the day at one of the small tables in the rear courtyard.

Areopoli is the centre of this region and has a calm nature, pleasant town square and several local style restaurants.
The village is small and friendly with many older (usually stone) buildings and houses. A unique square with the type of shops that have disappeared from most village and town centres adds to the character.
