OUR REVIEW

If there is a place in the world which is so powerful a destination that it does not draw crowds, it is not on any lists as a "must visit" destination If it is so unique and yet does not have that secluded, quiet and calm place to stay, an "oasis away from the temper and chatter of mankind" - then we do not know of it.

Eventually such grand destinations of the world as Santorini, must have a quality, unpretentious, hotel that allows you to leave the madding crowds behind clinging to the view, to the cafes and the shops day and night.
In Santorini it is Vedema.

After all, you can go to "The View" whenever you wish - someone will drive you so you can see and enjoy it for yourself - perhaps early morning or in the evening when the clamouring crowds depart the caldera.

Vedema is the haven - the hotel resort in a village in the hills, above and beyond the trinket shops - preserving of your dignity, calm state, your energy and privacy.
Relax and dine at the masons-gathering King-Arthur-like cave restaurant, swim, sleep, read, sip coffee and order an ice cream with fresh fruit salad by the small pool, the large pool or your own pool.

Vedema in Megalochori is like a walled garden in a village, flowers flourishing in colourful contrast to the volcanic rock walls and the white-sided cottages and buildings that make up the rooms, suites and the regal Presidential Villa. The villa was converted from a wealthy sea captain's home, which is worth affording if you choose to holiday with company beyond a small number and want a slightly more self contained, spiffingly luxurious stay. (The villa has seen several international celebrities stay - as Vedema in general - as a more discreet way of being relaxed and unpestered while you are in Santorini).

Rooms and other suites are of a high standard - more cottage country home than sheer metallic marble & glass combinations and the friendlier and somehow more luxurious in relaxation, for it.

Aegean Residence: 60 sq. meters plus patio or terrace. Private outdoor whirlpool. Presidential Villa: 170 sq. meters plus patio or terrace. Private dining in the living room or on the terrace. Whirlpool and exclusive private heated pool. Decorated by the well-known Aggelos Aggelopoulos. 3 bedrooms with remote-control adjustable beds & 3 marble bathrooms with hydro massage bathtubs.

Rates are per house, per night. They include breakfast, air conditioning , all taxes, transfers to/from the airport or port, to private beach and town on pre-scheduled times.
