Enjoy a guided 16km hike through the longest and most impressive of Europe’s limestone gorges, a magnificent example of Crete’s many gorges, stretching from the White Mountains down to the Libyan sea.

Samaria or the Samaria Gorge is one of the main sights of Crete, the second most visited (following the Minoan palace of Knossos) and by far the most popular walk. Every tourist who visits Crete will have heard of this beautiful gorge or soon will. The locals call it the “Farangas” or “Great Gorge”, both in admiration at its beauty and to differentiate it from the many other, smaller gorges of Crete.

The Small Group Tour :

We leave early in the morning and passing through several beautiful villages we reach the plateau of Omalos. Our hike will last approximately 6 hours and will take us, along a breathtaking and constantly changing landscape, to Agia Roumeli, a laid back coastal village by the South coast, accessible only by boat.

The tour will allow you a chance to experience this must-see natural phenomenon at a slower pace, attended to by a specialized guide.

At the base of the gorge you can enjoy a refreshing swim and lunch at one of the local tavernas.

After an hour’s sail to the nearby port, you will be transferred back to Chania in the evening.

First-hand knowledge from guests who’ve been joined our tour.

Dear Giannis, We wanted to respond and let you know how wonderful the Samaria Gorge tour was thanks to you and your employees. It was super convenient to be picked up in our village and taken back at the end of the long day. Natalia was our tour guide. We cannot say enough about how wonderful she is! She is pleasant, knowledgable, and patient. We had some in our group who had some difficulty with the hike. She stuck by their sides the entire time and gave them nothing but encouragement. I do believe they would not have been able to complete the hike without her. We all loved her stories and information about the island and the wonderful Cretan people and customs. We would all highly recommend your tour to anyone considering the hike. Ioannis was our driver. He was also wonderful! He took the tough curves very gently. Some our our group are prone to car sickness and he maneuvered the roads gracefully. We want to thank you with all our hearts for one of the high points of an amazing week in Crete. All the best,
- Rebecca and Mathew C.

Good Afternoon Yiannis and Linda, Just a note to say THANK YOU to all the team that made my Samaria Gorge hike a pleasure. Linda is amazing. She showed up on time and she knows how to guide her clients in a very reassuring way. She is a good team leader. She knows the gorge very well and I felt all along that she kept looking out for my safety. Both drivers were courteous and professional. Thank You,
- Peter G S.

Hi Giannis, My experience on the Samaria Gorge small group tour will be in my memory forever. Even though I slept in because I had not realised that Greece time was an hour difference to Italy time, Linda, the tour guide waited for me. (I probably only took 5 minutes as I'd prepared everything the night before.) The driver of the bus negotiated all those twists and turns on the way to the gorge with ease. You felt secure with his driving skills. And the views on the way were wonderful. The drive back from the boat in the evening was equally as well done as the morning. Linda managed superbly with me as the only Australian client, the other six being French. She also kept an eye on me as the oldest in the group. The pace of the tour was gradual and we had adequate time to enjoy the impressive scenery of the gorge. I have been given one of your cards and when I get home i will get my family to help me put a post on your Facebook page and also on TripAdvisor. Thank you for accommodating me on this trip.
- Lillian B.
