Holy Flame to Go to 17 Greek Destinations via AEGEAN

AEGEAN Airlines will provide three extra aircraft (non commercial flights) to distribute the Holy Flame to as many Greek destinations as possible once it arrives in Athens from Jerusalem on Holy Saturday, April 15.

Holy Week Hours 2015 For Museums, Monuments & Archaeological Sites

The Greek Culture Ministry on Wednesday, April 8th announced the opening hours of all state-run museums, archaeological sites and monuments during the Easter 2015 holiday.

Holy Week Hours 2015

- Friday, April 10: 12 noon to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, April 11: 8 am to 3 pm
- Easter Day, Sunday, April 12: Closed
- Easter Monday, April 13: 8am to 3pm

In addition, all archaeological sites, museums and monuments of the state will be closed on May 1st.

In northern Europe and many other delightful points upon the globe, this weekend is Easter.

A chance to relax, visit family, meet your lover, visit a loved one, go to a church (even enter and say a few words) - whatever Easter is to you, yes it has become a holiday for all, enjoy it or be rewarded by it.

Easter in Greece and a Small Road

Easter in Crete as always has attracted some early season visitors and church bells vividly rang with the Epitaph being paraded through villages and towns.

Now those who fasted (some do) can eat all foods again - the traditional roasting of lamb on an open spit was celebrated again on Easter Sunday.

Oh and the road....long awaited and now with a hopeful gaze, the road (almost impassable at present) between Kato Zakros and Xerokambos is due to be partly surfaced by the end of June...
